Dr. Swaby grew up between Brooklyn, NY, and Jamaica, W.I. He became a certified nurse’s aide while still in high school and went on to complete his bachelor's and master's degrees in the frigid cold of upstate New York. After additional graduate studies at the University at Buffalo, he pursued his medical degree in Syracuse, NY. Initially studying internal medicine, he ultimately transitioned to emergency medicine. Dr. Swaby worked in NYC before relocating to the warmer climate of the South.

He has a special interest in undersea and hyperbaric medicine as well as chronic wound care management. Outside of medicine, he enjoys music, fine arts, museums, the outdoors, and dancing. Dr. Swaby is excited for the journey ahead.
