Kathryn West was born and raised in the Atlanta area. She completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, majoring in neuroscience with a minor in studio art. She then earned a master’s degree in physiology at Georgetown University before attending medical school at Emory University. Kathryn moved to Charlotte, NC, to complete her Emergency Medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. Following her residency in 2016, she joined the faculty at Carolinas Medical Center as an assistant professor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their two daughters, and their extended family in the Atlanta area. She is excited to join Georgia Emergency Department Services.
