Dr. Hollifield occasionally serves as a Dutch Merchant Naval Officer, holding the position of Ship's Surgeon and Chief Medical Officer on passenger vessels, as well as Safety Officer on cargo ships. He holds a Seaman’s License from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Currently, he is the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton, Georgia.

An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Hollifield is a certified scuba diver who enjoys horseback riding, trail riding, hunting, fishing, and a variety of outdoor activities.
