Dr. Morrison grew up on the west coast of central Florida in Bradenton. He attended the University of Florida from 1987-1991, earning an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, and went on to earn his MD from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine from 1991-1995. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine from 1995-1998, where he remained as an Assistant Professor for three years. Since then, he has worked at various local hospitals with the ApolloMD, EmCare, and Paragon groups, including Kennestone, Cobb, Paulding, Douglasville, North Fulton, Northside, Northside-Forsyth, Eastside, Grady, Emory, and Emory Midtown. He has also done locums work in Savannah and Maine.
Dr. Morrison has been with Georgia Emergency Department Services (GEDS) since 2012 and has witnessed significant growth within the organization. He currently serves as the Medical Director at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton campus.
Dr. Morrison’s wife is an immigrant from India, who moved to the U.S. via Toronto, Canada, and later Americus, Georgia. They met during his residency. Formerly an aspiring clothing designer, she now owns The Law bridal gown design company, which sells wholesale gowns to boutiques worldwide. Once a year, Dr. Morrison and their children join her at the NY Bridal Market to "help" with her shows.
As a family, they enjoy traveling and take at least two long-distance trips each year, with skiing and hiking among their favorite activities. Dr. Morrison is a self-described poor golfer and an average tennis player, though he wishes he could play both more often. They are also big fans of local Atlanta sports and love attending ATL UTD games.
